Create Asset

Overview

Use the Create Asset page to add a new asset and place it at the correct hierarchy level.

Main Fields

• Asset Name
• Type

Steps

1. Open the Assets area.
2. Click Create Asset.
3. Enter the asset name.
4. Select the asset type.
5. If required, select the parent asset.
6. Create the asset.

Parent Selection

• SITE does not require a parent.
• AREA requires selecting a SITE parent.
• ZONE requires selecting an AREA parent.

Validation

• Asset name is required.
• A name made only of spaces is refused.
• A name is at most 200 characters.
• Back returns to the asset list.
• Asset type is required.

Attribute Scopes

Assets store server attributes. The asset page counts those. Shared and client scopes are for devices, and they are not shown here.
