Create Dashboard

Overview

Create a dashboard from the dashboards list page.

Dashboard Details

Provide the following details when creating a dashboard:

• Dashboard Name

Steps

1. Open the Dashboards area.
2. Click Create Dashboard.
3. Enter the dashboard details.
4. Save the dashboard.

Dialog Actions

• Create — create the dashboard.
• Cancel — close the form without creating a dashboard.
• Save — create the dashboard.

Result

After the dashboard is created from the list page (name only), open it and add widgets. Import keeps the dashboard's name. If that name is already used, the import stops and says so. A dashboard name is at most 200 characters.

If the plan's dashboard limit is already reached, Create stays on this page and shows that limit. On Free that sentence is "Dashboard limit (1) reached for your plan".

API create (integrators)

POST /api/dashboards accepts optional widgets, layout, aliases, states, and timeWindow in the same body as name. Those fields are stored on create — they are not discarded. The in-app Create dialog only sends the name; use Import or the API when you need a full dashboard in one call.
