Customers (SITE assets)

Same tree

Customers are not a second hierarchy. When Use assets as customers is on, each SITE asset is labeled and treated as a Customer. AREA and ZONE stay under that SITE for plant layout.

Turn it on

1. Open Tenant Settings (owner / tenant admin).
2. Card Customers (SITE assets).
3. Enable Use assets as customers.

Stored as tenant attribute key use_assets_as_customers (boolean, default off). Existing tenants keep SITE wording until they turn it on.

What changes

Surface	Behaviour
Assets list / create	SITE shown as Customer
Access scope	Assign the customer SITE (and optional AREA/ZONE under it)
Dashboards	Assign the fleet/customer dashboard to the user (no global dashboard access). Alias, map, and table widgets only resolve devices in their Access Scope
Live updates	Browser live channel requires login; telemetry is only for devices the user can see (same Access Scope)
Alarms notify	Scoped users only get alarms for devices in their scope

Customer Admin

Role Customer Admin can create and manage Read/Write and Read Only users only inside their assigned customer SITE(s). They cannot:

• Become or create Tenant Owner / Tenant Admin
• Open Tenant Settings, billing, profiles, rule engines, OTA, or API keys
• See other customers’ users or devices
